March 23 - 24 : Wild Sheep Fundraiser and a Flash Mob

On Saturday March 23rd I went down to Red Deer to take part in a fundraiser for Wild Sheep Foundation Alberta. Before this event I had never heard of this association, but after learning about their cause “together we can support the future of wildlife” I will be supporting them in the future. The evening consisted of a silent auction, supper and a live auction. I had a lot of fun selling raffle tickets for a hiking / hunting back pack. I even got to put the pack on and walk around to sell tickets, what a sight that must have been. It was great to see the Sundre Rodeo Royalty there as well!

A big thank you to the Wild Sheep Foundation Alberta for having me out and best wishes for the rest of 2013.

I was fortunate enough to be chaperoned by my mother and aunt for the weekend. We stayed the night in Red Deer then headed down to Airdrie for a special event. Well, not before doing some shopping of course. Thanks to Jones Boys in Red Deer for setting me up with a beautiful white Serratelli hat.

On Sunday March 24th Around 4 pm I arrived at the Boys and Girls club in Airdrie. I wasn’t told a lot about this event, just that it was a surprise. So there we were, about 100 people sitting in the Boys and Girls club and we didn't have a clue about what we were there for. After a little while a video started to play, and it told us that we were there to support the Airdrie Atom Rednecks whom had lost their amazing coach to a tragic accident in January. After hearing that I felt so happy to be there to show my support for those kids, and I'm sure that everyone else felt the same way. So we all snuck into the hockey arena next door and waited for our cue to come into the arena while cheering our loudest. Everyone did a fantastic job and I think we really surprised the team. After, we got to watch the Rednecks take on a ‘celebrity’ team which consisted of Mayor Peter Brown whom we discovered is very talented! He can be a lightning fast forward as well as a goalie!  Despite their efforts they were beat by the Rednecks who played a flawless game. Everyone had tons of fun and it showed Airdrie’s true heart.

Thank you for having me out to this event, I am very glad I could be a part of something so meaningful.

See you down the trail!
