One amazing event that the Rodeo Royalty, and our committee members, that have been proud to help out and attend is the Airdrie Food Bank - Empty Bowls Festival.


2012 marks the 6th Annual, and we have been so lucky to be involved every year.
Our 2011 Royalty, 2012 Contestants, along with some of our valuable association members came out to paint bowls to be sold off at the Festival later this month.

Come out on Saturday June 23rd, 10-4pm to check out all the activities that go on, and buy a bowl in support of the Food Bank.  It comes with Soup.

Bonnyville Pro Rodeo

This past weekend I had an amazing opportunity to meet some wonderful people. Friday night, I headed north for the 25th annual Bonnyville Pro Rodeo! The Valee family welcomed me into their beautiful home for the weekend, and were amazing hosts! They also supplied me with a horse for the weekend, and I am so grateful to them! The BPRCA committee also welcomed me with open arms, and it was an absolute pleasure getting to know them all! Thank you all so much for being so hospitable.



Saturday I attended the Pancake breakfast, the parade, the heavy horse pull, and the evening Rodeo performance. The day was jam packed with fun and it was nice to get to know the BPRCA Royalty. The 2011 BPRCA Queen Ashley Hayward, 2011 Princess Kylie Getzinger, and the newly crowned 2012 BPRCA Queen Amanda Griemann. We had shared many laughs, and had a blast. I was introduced in the grand entry, and I also helped with chase out. There was a great crowd, and before I knew it, I was surrounded by kids for autographs. Meeting kids is one of my favorite Queen duties. How can you not love how cute they are, and the excitement on their faces. It was a great day and I was so glad there was still one more to go.

We started our Sunday with Cowboy Church, and finished the day off with the final performance of the Rodeo. I can truly say that the BPRCA throws one of the best Cowboy Church services I have ever seen! The music, the cowboy poetry, the stories, and the food was all amazing. I was introduced in the grande entry again and helped out with chase out. I was honored to be apart of the 2012 BPRCA Queen Coronation, and presented Amanda with a bouqet of roses. Tracy and Breanna on the Queen committee were so great to me, and really made me feel welcome. I would also like to thank Brett Gardiner and Dennis Halstead for the great job they did this weekend, it was awesome to work with you!

Thanks so much to Tana Hooper - More Than Words Photography, for coming out to take the photos again.  Tana's been heling us for many many years and does a wonderful job.

June 2012, will be a busy one for our 2011 Royalty and our 2012 Contestants for Miss Rodeo Airdrie.  The girls are judged on multiple aspects during the competition.  Horsemanship, Written Exam, Public Speaking, Fashion Show, Personal Interviews & Secret Judges.

May Long Weekend 2012

Rebecca and I kept ourselves busy this weekend attending three events. The Balzac Beef 4-H Club Steer and Heifer Show, the High River Little Britches Parade and Rodeo, and the Carstairs District 4-H Steer Show and Sale. We handed out ribbons and awards at both 4-H events. It was great getting to know the future leaders of our agricultural industry. 4-H it such a great way to give our youth the skills to be successful, and the appreciation of what our agriculture industry has to offer. Not to mention all the great country style meals you get to eat! Thank you so much to Balzac Beef and the Carstairs 4-H Steer Show for inviting us to sit down and have some delicious meals! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Heather Mills and the High River Little Britches Rodeo for hosting us on Victoria day. We had a great time in the Parade and had the pleasure of meeting the very first High River Little Britches Rodeo Queen, Emily Dunham. We participated in the Grande Entry at the rodeo and helped out with the mutton bustin, and buckle presentations. It was an absolute blast! It is hard to grasp that our year will be coming to an end in less than six weeks!

2012 Airdrie Pro Rodeo

Hello,

With the 2012 Airdrie Pro Rodeo fast Approaching us, now is as good as time as any to start blogging.  Keep updated on the Airdrie Pro Rodeo travels & up to date with the going on's of the Airdrie Pro Rodeo.

The 2012 Airdrie Pro Rodeo this year runs from Wednesday June 27th - Sunday July 1st.  All information about going on's at the grounds, sponsorship, parade..... are being updated on our website www.airdrieprorodeo.com.

The 2012 Pageant for Miss Rodeo Airdrie is just about underway as well.  We have some wonderful contestants that you will get to meet shortly.

On Saturday May 5th, the Airdrie Pro Rodeo Royalty hosted there 2nd Annual Funny Money Casino Fundraiser.  It was a huge success, and we wanted to say thank you to all those who came out to support us, our sponsors/donations & volunteers.  It couldn't have happened with out you.

We had a ensemble of Royalty that came to help us out as well.  Thank You Ladies.

The room / tables were filled all night, with the royalty as celebrity dealers, as well as the Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown, who came to help us out as well.  A big thank you to Ace's R' Wild Casino Company for helping us out.  Amazing group of people to work with.

The Funds raised from Ticket Sales & Silent Auction are going to help out current and upcoming Royalty to head down the road.

Stay tuned, as there is talk of the 3rd Annual next year, it was a big hit.
